Events run in and around canberra
The events listed below are for those that enjoy the social aspect of exercise. These events are run in and around the Canberra region and are suitable for all, although some are exclusively for women. Some of them are free whilst, some have a small cost associated with them. They all run on various days at various times, providing people with the flexibility to fit them in their busy schedules. If multiple programs are combined, at least one of these events run on any particular day.
Live Life, Get Active

Type of training: Active Yoga, Active Boxing and Active X training
Cost of Program: Free
Timing of Program: 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm (Moncrieff Community Recreation Park), 12 pm - 12:45 pm (Glebe Park, Civic)
Location: Moncrieff Community Recreation Park, Glebe Park Civic
Who is it for : People of all ages, families, friends or anyone in groups.
YMCA Runners Club
Running
Type of training: Running- 90 races per year, Monthly jog along for Mums & kids, TTS training group
Cost of Program: $50/year
Timing of Program: TTS Training- 6:30-7:30am Tues & Thurs, 7am- Saturdays
Location: Jog along- Western Park
TTS Training- Lennox Gardens, Flynn Drive
Who is it for : Jog along- Mums & Kids
TTS Training- anyone who can run 7’30 per km or faster
Heart Foundation Walking Groups
Type of training: Walking
Cost of Program: Free
Timing of Program: Vary, please check weblink provided below
Location: Vary, All main city hubs of Canberra and some other suburbs e.g. Canberra City
Who is it for :
Dependent on walking group- information provided about speed, group size, duration and whether it is dog or pram friendly.
e.g. Canberra City Group- 50 members, medium pace, 75-90 minutes, no prams or dogs.
FIT (Females in Training)
Running
Type of training: Triathlon Sports (Run, Swim, Bike)
Cost of Program: $50 for the FIT membership, $136- Triathlon Australia Membership
Timing of Program: Vary (Every day of the week, mostly morning times but some evening)
Location: Lake Burley Griffin, Lake Ginninderra, Queanbeyan, Gungahlin, Tuggeranong, Mt Ainsle, Coombs
Who is it for : People of all ages, families, friends or anyone in groups.
Pedal Power ACT
Type of training: Cycling
Cost of Program: $50 per year for a full-time student, $90 per year for others
Timing of Program: Monday- off-road rides, weekday morning rides on Wednesday & Friday, Thursday south side riding, Saturday rides
Location: Vary, all over Canberra
Who is it for: People of all ages, looking for social rides from 20km to over 100km.
